The campaign camp of presidential candidate Lt General Henry Kakurugu Tumukunde have asked the public to treat the news  claiming that Hon Patrick Oboi Amuriat has stepped down and backed the bush war general, as fake and  misleading.

Via their Renewed Uganda Facebook page, camp Tumukunde clarified that the document appearing on Forum for Democratic Change headed paper claiming to announce a resolution from the Central Executive Committee to be fake.

The document claimed that FDC’s CEC held a meeting over the weekend and reached a unanimous decision to have the barefoot candidate and party flag bearer Patrick Amuriat bow out of the race and render his support to the independent candidate Gen. Tumukunde who uses the pressure group team Renewed Uganda.

Camp Tumukunde said that such fake news are meant to fail any attempts by the opposition to u unite in the nearing elections.
