Startimes, UMEME & others advise customers to make timely purchases as network are expected to be down





Various service providers including Umeme and Startimes have issued warning to their customers to make purchases and subscriptions in time ahead of elections period where they expect network to be down.

Internet is expected to slow down which is one of the key instruments these service providers use to process payments.

UMEME via their Social Media profiles issued a warning telling customers to make Yaka ‘adequate purchases’ of Yaka as Internet Network keeps slowing down causing delays and sometimes failure in token generations.

Startimes on the other hand sent sms alerts telling their clients to subscribe for at least a week to avoid disconnections as they expect the payments network to be down starting from today in the Afternoon.

“We are expriencing intermittent internet speeds lately. This is likely to cause some disruptions while purchasing Yaka tokens; we encourage customers to make adquate Yaka purchases.” Part of Umeme’s notice read.

Customers are advised to make payments of their utilities like Yaka, TV Subscriptions and other data subscriptions in time to avoid disconnections.
